Genealogical

GENEALOGICAL & HISTORICAL
RECORDS OF PREBLE COUNTY, OHIO
INTRODUCTION:
The idea for the database originated with Susan Kendall, former Library Director; Polly Kronenberger, former Webmaster; and the Preble County Room staff. Scanning technicians, have spent countless hours scanning and proofreading records. The result is a genealogist’s dream. The database contains an index to the scanned images of the actual genealogical and historical records. Only the names of the persons involved are indexed. The elected official or minister, performed a marriage or signed a document, is not included.
USING THE INDEX:
You can search the database by typing the surname of the person of interest. If you suspect that name may be different than the current spelling, try different spelling variations or type in only a few letters of the name. For example: Albrecht or Albright or type in Alb to get both (and more).
The resulting page will show the name of the person, the year, the type of record and a record number. The record number is a combination of the type of record and a unique number. Below is a chart showing how the number is created.
