Q: When will we start seeing the hours restored and the materials again?

A: The levy funds will not begin coming to our library until January 2011. We plan on borrowing forward in order to immediately restore hours and build up our much neglected material purchases.

Q:What are your plans for the future now that we've supported your levy?

A: The Trustees and I agree that we need to move forward cautiously and conservatively. Restoring hours and materials is our primary objective. We have lost a lot of Staff due to attrition. It is time to hire so that we have coverage with restored hours. This will happen over a period of months.

Technologically, we are looking to replace space stealing desktop computers with portable in-house laptops. We want to offer downloadable music to increase accessibility and variety. Yes, we will be having downloadable books for those of you with Kindles, iPads and the like.

We are very eager to get our homeschooling resources and programming going. This will be the job of a new hire. We are excited about purchasing audio players for our homebound patrons so we no longer have to rely on the State Library of Ohio-which is running out of players.

This decade has taught libraries to be creative in finding ways to do more with less and we have not lost that mindset. Every dollar you have invested in us...will still bring you that $9.00 return.
